主要從事利用痕量物質檢測的新效應（如光熱光譜、光聲光譜檢測技術），進行光譜氣體測量技術和器件的研究，尤其空芯微結構光纖氣體傳感的研究， 開展光纖氣體傳感器在環境監測、呼吸檢測等重要領域的應用研究。
